The Camino de Santiago
The Camino de Santiago is the pilgrimage to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. According to legend, in Santiago de Compostela rest the buried remains of the Santiago the Apostle. With Santiago Ways you can book the following organized Caminos to Santiago:
Our recommendation for those customers who are going to have their first experience on the Camino, is that they start with the last section of the Camino Frances, from Sarria to Santiago, since it has some of the sections with the least unevenness on its terrain and, in turn, is the Camino that is best signposted and adapted to pilgrims.
Even so, the offer is very wide and varied among the Caminos; length, difficulty level and landscapes change considerably from one to another, so we will be happy to advise them in a personalized way, trying to find the Camino that best suits the needs and preferences of their customers.
In addition, it is important to note that to obtain “La Compostela”, the pilgrim must walk at least the last 100 km. or travel the last 200 km. of the Camino by bicycle.
Individual self-guided trips
These trips are organized to be completed in a self-guided way, that is, we will provide pilgrims with all the information to be able to do the Camino and they will be able to organize their day to day according to their preferences. In addition, they will have direct contact with all our suppliers along the Camino and will have a roadside assistance vehicle and a 24/7 emergency telephone for any queries or emergencies they may have. Pilgrims will receive their Pilgrim’s Credential at their first accommodation point so they can pick up stamps along the route.
Accommodation
All our accommodation has private rooms with private bathrooms, and can be cottages, hotels or rural houses, depending on the offer and availability in each village. Accommodation is mostly located in the end-of-stage villages themselves. However, in some cases, always looking for the best option available, they would be transferred to accommodation within a few kilometres.
Meal plans
Guests can choose between breakfast, half board (breakfast and dinner) or breakfast, picnic and dinner. We also attend specific requests about special diets or allergies, so that the customer does not find any problems.
We offer our customers some additional services such as transfers to or from airports, train or bus stations, which facilitates their arrival at their first accommodation, or at the end of the Camino. They can also hire guided tours or excursions that will complement the experience of the Camino.
