The leading agency of the Camino de Santiago reinforces its presence in the Canarian entrepreneurial ecosystem in a meeting focused on artificial intelligence, taxation and leadership.
Santiago Ways was present today at the II Business Conference organized by AENAGA in Agüimes, a meeting that consolidates its position as a reference point of the business network of Gran Canaria. After the success of its first edition, these conferences have brought together entrepreneurs, managers, freelancers and professionals committed to the evolution of their business models in an increasingly competitive and changing environment.
The company was represented by Cristóbal Corujo, CFO and board member, and Álvaro de Tejada, Head of Growth, who participated in the various sessions of the day and took advantage of the space to establish contacts with other players in the Canary Islands entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Artificial intelligence, taxation and talent: the challenges that matter
This edition has placed artificial intelligence at the center of the business debate, with a transversal presence in presentations and round tables, and a specific practical workshop oriented to its real application in the company’s day-to-day business. For Santiago Ways, which is already working with automation and the use of AI in its internal processes of marketing and operations, these types of applied learning spaces are especially relevant at a time when technology is redefining how a tourism business is managed and scaled.
The conference also addressed the Canary Islands taxation, a strategic area for any company in the archipelago with a vision of growth, as well as talent management, work-life balance and team leadership. Areas in which Santiago Ways invests actively, convinced that a solid company is built from within.
Active presence in the Canary Islands entrepreneurial ecosystem
For Santiago Ways, participation in this type of initiative is not an act of visibility, but of business coherence. This was expressed by Cristóbal Corujo, Chief Financial Officer and company’s board of directors, after the end of the day:
“We have organized more than 40,000 trips to the Camino de Santiago for clients of 54 different nationalities. That gives us a very clear perspective of what it means to compete in a global market. But it also reminds us that our base is here, in the Canary Islands, and that the business ecosystem we are part of matters. Conferences like AENAGA’s help us not to lose that north: to continue being a Canary Islands company that thinks and operates big.”
Cristóbal Corujo, Chief Financial Officer of santiago ways
A Canary Islands company with a global vocation
Based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santiago Ways has become Spain’s leading agency for organizing the Camino de Santiago. With more than 40,000 trips managed, clients from 54 nationalities, and an active presence across five international markets – Spanish, English, Italian, German, and Portuguese – the company holds a unique position: a business born in the Canary Islands that has transformed one of Spain’s greatest cultural icons into a world-class tourism product on a global scale.
A journey built not only on a strong product, but also on people, processes, and strategic decisions made at the right time. And on the conviction that being present in the spaces where business conversations happen – such as the AENAGA Business Conference – truly matters.
Thank you to AENAGA for organizing the 2nd Business Conference, “The Intelligent Company: Compete, Grow, Lead.” It was a pleasure to share this space for learning, innovation, and networking alongside professionals and companies committed to the future of business.
We remain committed to transformation, collaboration, and growth.
