Itinerary of the Muros de Nalón – Soto de Luiña stage
Today we face an easy stage, with low mileage (15.3 kilometers) and frequent but moderate slopes.
Muros de Nalón (km. 0). Beginning of stage

Practical advice for this section: The Jacobean path does not pass through the picturesque town of Cudillero, located 1.8 km from El Pito.
If you wish to visit it you can detour, with the increase in route that this implies, but the short distance of today’s stage allows you to do so. Buen Camino!
From the central square of Muros de Nalón, where the Town Hall and its church are located, we take the street towards the granary that houses the Tourist Office. After crossing the FEVE railway, we turn right onto Francisco Cabal street and, 100 meters later, we turn left.
Further on, we cross the FEVE track again and enter a forest, along a dirt track. We zigzag down to save a stream and soon after we find the FEVE track again.
We cross it through a tunnel and come out onto a local road, which we follow to the right. This leads us to the CU-2 road, already in El Pito, a small town in the council of Cudillero (km. 4).
We continue along the CU-2 road, towards Cudillero, passing by the Palace of Selgas and the Church of Jesús de Nazareno. Next to a modern building we leave the road and take an asphalt track on the left, which then becomes a path through which we cross two streams.
At the end, we end up leaving the access road to the FEVE station of Cudillero, which we leave on the left, saving the FEVE track, through an underpass. After 400 meters we turn right.
In the village of El Peñedo we cross the national road N-632 and then pass under the A-8 highway. We follow the asphalt road, first uphill and then downhill, to pass under the highway again and reach the village of Rellayo (km. 8.6).
Rellayo (km. 8.6).
Practical advice for this section: This section was affected by the works of the A-8, which forced to make some detours. Fortunately, the route now seems to be stable. Buen Camino!
On leaving the town, we follow a dirt track that passes twice under a viaduct of the A-8 freeway. Then we cross the N-632 and, in La Magdalena, we go down to the beach of La Concha de Artedo. We advance 400 meters along the sandy area and leave it on the right.
The Jacobean path continues along the opposite slope, uphill, towards two grandiose viaducts, one of the national road and the other of the highway. After crossing them, following a dirt track, we arrive at the small village of Mumayor (km. 12.4).
We cross the village and at the exit we turn right onto an uphill road. We follow the road for 250 meters and then turn left onto a pleasant grassy path through a thick forest. We join the national road and follow it to our destination today, Soto de Luiña (km. 15.3).
Soto de Luiña (km. 15.3). End of stage

Practical tips for this stretch: If it’s hot and you want to take a swim, a 2.2 kilometer walk down the local road will take you to the pleasant beach of San Pedro. See you tomorrow!
Another quiet afternoon awaits us today. The town offers services but not too many places of interest. After the visit to the Molino de Goro and the Church of Santa Maria, you have two options.
Sit quietly in front of a café and enjoy good conversation or walk 2.2 kilometers to the beautiful beach of San Pedro and enjoy the sea.
