Travel time and distances depend on each pilgrim. There are no correct deadlines and correct distances, it depends on what each one can advance each day.
We recommend you calculate an average of 50 kilometers per day. You must do at least 200 kilometers, the minimum distance to obtain the accreditation of La Compostela on bicycle.
Choose your Camino
The Camino de Santiago has a different routes. If is the first time you are going to travel on bike, we recommend you to choose a Camino that meets your needs and the time you have for the adventure.
Probably, the best option to start is the French Way, We don’t recommend you doing complete, is a heavy route Approximately 900 kilometers!
An excellent alternative is the route that departs from León. It comprises 306 kilometers divided into 6 stages. This route goes through the Valle de Ponferrada and O Cebreiro and ends in Santiago de Compostela.
Keep in mind that all the routes of the Camino de Santiago have a special feature that makes it magical, and you can start from wherever you want.
If you have already done more trips on bike, you are in good shape, and you are passionate about this way to do the Camino, choose the route that you like.
If you need recommendations, the Primitivo Way has a special charm, and it was the first route used by pilgrims who wanted to go to Santiago de Compostela. Part from Oviedo, and the main section that connects Asturias with Galicia is into the mountain.
