Hiking trail in Menorca: The Camí de Cavalls
Arrival in Mahón
Today you will arrive in the city of Mahón, capital of Menorca, where you can delight in its architecture, dating from the time of the English occupation and, without a doubt, its gastronomy.
Once there, if you have time during the afternoon, we suggest you know the Bastion de Sant Roc, Fortaleza de la Mola, Plaza de la Constitución and tour all of its alleyways.
From Es Grau to Port d'Addaia
Today you will have a transfer that will take you to Es Grau so that from there you will start walking. On the route, you will find very good signage and a very diverse terrain where you will see dunes, lagoons, coastal trails and even the Cabo Favaritx Lighthouse.
At the end of your day, you will arrive in Port d'Addaia and have a transfer to Fornells, to spend your second night.
From Cap de Cavalleria to Cala Pilar
Today, once again, you will have a transfer that will take you to your starting point, Cap de Cavalleria, to continue your journey. You will pass along the coast and then through one of the mountainous areas of Menorca. Make the most of this journey, because you have the privilege of walking through almost unspoilt terrain.
When you arrive in Cala Pilar at the end of your route, you will have another transfer that will take you back to Fornells.
From Cala Pilar to Cala Morell
In the morning, they will take you back to Cala Pilar so that you can return to your path. You'll have to head inland to the island for a little over 8 kilometres, then start a series of climbs that will take you towards a landscape that you'll love.
As a curious fact, we would tell you that you will be walking through the area of origin of the famous Mahón cheese, so maybe some cows could cross your path.
As today's route is not so very extensive, in the afternoon you will have some time to rest from the day of walking in Cala Morell. Later, they'll take you to Ciutadella, where you'll spend your night.
From Cala Morell to Ciutadella
Today you will be taken back to Cala Morell from where you will complete today's walk to Ciutadella. You will have to walk along the walls in the shape of huts, which the local cattle use to cover the famous wind that blows over the Sierra de Tramontana.
You will find the Punta Nati Lighthouse from where we suggest you delight in the stunning views and tranquillity that you can feel there. Afterwards, you will arrive at Cala Piques, where it is essential that, if you have time available and if there is good weather, have a dip in the sea.
Once there, you have two options: continue walking along the coast to Ciutadella or, alternatively, take a bus for the last 7 kilometres of the route.
From Son Xoriguer to Cala Galdana
Today you must make your own way by bus which will take you to Son Xoriguer to start your walk. Once there, your route will start with grasslands and olive trees. Afterwards, you will have an unparalleled landscape ahead of you adorned by the most beautiful beaches on the whole island.
Your route today is not very difficult and is very short, so you can do it very calmly and enjoy the areas you are going to travel through. You will end up in Cala Galdana and, once there, you will have to take a transfer back to Ciutadella.
Circular route from Cala Galdana
For your seventh day, you will have to take a transfer on your own to Cala Galdana again to resume your journey. Today's route will again be of little difficulty.
You'll have to walk a little inland and pass through the Migjorn limestone plateau. There, you'll delight in taking pictures of the Mallorcan turtles found inside the cracks of the rocks that you find on your way.
Afterwards, you will find a path that will take you a little off the road so that you deviate along the path of El Litoral. Again, if you have time and the weather is in your favour, do not hesitate to take a dip in the crystal clear waters of Cala Galdana. There, you'll have to take a transfer on your own back to Mahon.
