Today you will arrive in the beautiful white city of Grazalema, from where you will start your hiking route through La Sierra de Grazalema. The best way to get there is to take a flight to Malaga and, once there, take a bus that will take you to Ronda. From Ronda, a transfer included will take you to Grazalema.
This city will delight you from the moment you walk through it. Its white houses with decorated windows showing floral decorations and cobbled streets around it will take you back in time.

Today you start your route through the Sierra de Grazalema and you will have two hiking options to choose from. In both, you will enjoy spectacular views, typical Andalusian limestone mountains and lots of vegetation that you will love.
Since both of the options are short, at the end of the day we suggest you take a walk in the village and revel with the views from a terrace.

Overnight: Grazalema
Your hike today will be along the limestone paths of the Natural Park. You will pass through forests and typical Mediterranean vegetation, as well as around groups of traditional regional houses. You will then arrive in Villaluenga, from where you must reach Benaocaz by taking a taxi.
Once there, you will discover a village that, located on a hill, has a great tradition from the Roman era where it seems that everything is painted white thanks to its beautiful façades.

From Benaocaz today you will have the opportunity to make one or several walks around the spectacular municipality. In the morning, for example, we suggest that you walk the ancient Roman trail to Ubrique. Once there, in addition to resting and taking time to eat, you will have to decide if you return walking or take a taxi back.
When you return, you have the possibility of another circular route that runs along a historic path that has a viewpoint as its final destination.

Overnight: Benaocaz
Today you will take a short transfer to Villaluenga from where you will start your route to the Llanos del Republicano, through a descent that will take you to a valley where the river vanishes. Today's walk will be long, but it starts with a descent and it is not so difficult.
You will walk along cliffs between the Sierra de Libar and the Sierra del Palo, where you will have to follow a path adorned by limestone sculptures that will take you to Montejaque. This is another one of those beautiful white villages in the region.

Today you have two route options to choose from. The first, through Pico El Hacho, along the Campobuche River valley, forests and extensive olive groves.
The second will take you along paved roads to Benaojan and then you will have to climb a steep path. Your final destination will be 'La Cueva de la Pileta', declared a National Monument, where you can get to know prehistoric cave paintings. To return to Montejaque, you can do so by ordering a taxi from the Cave.

Your walk today to Ronda will take you along cobblestone paths, extensive fields and long journeys surrounded by country houses. The town of Ronda retains a historic charm that will make the whole route worthwhile.
There, the El Tajo gorge with its abyss divides the city in two. Also, Puente Nuevo, which is actually from the 18th century, offers you beautiful views. We suggest you take photographs as souvenirs of this spectacular landscape.
The Moorish district is of great interest to the town, so be encouraged to discover it. Also, get to know and delight yourself with all the charm of Ronda that you will discover as you walk through its beautiful streets.

This walking route can be done from January to June and again from September to December, since in the two months of high summer, high temperatures make the walk uncomfortable.
To get to your starting point for the walking trail in La Sierra de Grazalema we suggest you take a plane to Malaga Airport. From there, you must get to Ronda on your own. By bus, you will take about 2 hours.
Once in Ronda, an included transfer will be waiting for you to take you to Grazalema.
When you finish your trip in Ronda, we recommend taking the same means of transport as at the beginning for your return to Malaga.
Remember, we can arrange a private transfer both at the beginning and end of your route. Ask us about this option at the time of booking.

You will receive it by email one month before starting the trip along with all the documentation of the trip: accommodation reservations, luggage transfers, among others.
The kilometres of travel and the journey times indicated for our hiking trips are reference values.
It will depend on each walker the fulfilment of these times and distances, according to the speed at which they advance.
Both sedentary people and those who regularly exercise should physically prepare for any of our hiking trails.
Sedentary people can start with moderate activity and continue progressively. They should start by taking small 20-minute walks, two or three times a week. It is suggested to increase the time until you reach walk about 4 or 5 kilometres every hour.
People with regular physical activity can start by walking from 45 to 60 minutes a day and increase the amount of time and kilometres they travel in the same span of time.
Generally, it is recommended to start training about three months before starting the route.
There is no minimum number of days in advance to book, although on certain dates the occupancy of the accommodation is higher, especially in high season.
Therefore, in order to guarantee availability in the best accommodation, we suggest you book as much in advance as possible, so that we can meet all your needs.
For any of our routes we suggest you to bring the following items: light and fast drying clothing, waterproof jacket and trousers, sun hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a pair of shoes suitable for hiking, trekking poles, a pair of shoes to rest in, a jacket that doesn't take up much space and a bottle to carry water.
Depending on the time of year in which you make the route, these items may vary.
Remember that with Santiago Ways, you have included a baggage transfer service between stages, so we will take your backpack from one accommodation to another so that you only worry about walking (maximum 1 piece of 20 kg per person).
For this reason, we suggest you prepare a second backpack, much smaller, that you can carry with you every day with water, sunscreen, cap, sunglasses, documents, some food and cash.
Every day, at 8:00 am, you must bring your luggage, properly labelled, to the reception. One of our carriers will pick it up and take it to the place where you are going to stay on your next stage.
Delivery time varies according to the distance between stages and the carrier's delivery route. Usually, delivery is made before 4 p.m.
Please note that on many routes you sleep more than one night in the same accommodation, so the baggage transfer will not be necessary in these cases.
